An FYI PSA — A Production Reduction of Prodigious Proportions

Dear Loyal Followers,

As Mr. Micawber might say, “Due to the unforeseen and inopportune pecuniary encumbrances of metamorphic vicissitudes, it is with great heaviness of soul and psyche that I must disseminate a memorandum promulgating a reduction in my production that will be tantamount to Au revoir, Sayonara, and Auf wiedersehen. In short, Goodbye for now.”

Many of you have probably already noticed a significant decline in the frequency and quality of my posts over the last few weeks.

There are several reasons, but the bottom line is if I’m going to do something, I like to put my all into it and do it to the the absolute best of my ability. I’m pretty much an all-or-nothing type of guy, so if I am unable to give something that level of commitment and focus, I’d rather not do it at all, and due to recent changes in my life, it has become necessary for me to make some changes in the priorities of where I put my time and effort. A recent financial change has put me into the position of needing more income, so I’ve had to start working a second job that is severely cutting into my spare time. Also, the little spare time I do have makes it necessary to do most of my work on a mobile device, and, unfortunately, my aged thumbs and wrists are not handling it well.

I may still post periodically — I like to write too much to quit — but if I do it will be infrequent. As I’ve said before, “I cant not write”, so I may pop a poster pastry into the literary toaster every once in a while when the mood strikes and, if it turns out alright and seems nutritious enough for a good, inspiring meal for the mind and soul, I’ll serve it up for your reading pleasure.

Anyway, I just wanted to let you all know why my output will be nil to none for the foreseeable future. I hope you’ll still visit in every once in awhile and read something I’ve posted that you haven’t read before and still give me some likes and comments. I’ll still be responding to comments and checking out the blogs that I follow, so I won’t be a total stranger. I’d miss you all too much if I didn’t visit your blogs at least once in a while and say Hi. It’s been a great experience and I have developed a deep love for you all.

And yes, I’m gonna miss writing too. I’ll try not to be like the other David Copperfield and disappear.

Any thoughts? Let me know in the comments or send me an email and let me know what you think or how you feel about my decision.

“In the multitude of counselors there is safety.”

  1. We all must do what we must do. And I understand that commitment part – I was just saying to husband Chris this morning how shocked I am that I am still posting regularly to this blog after so many years! It’s always surprising to hold no expectations and yet. I wish you well and hope your financial crisis improves soon. Aloha 🌷

    1. Thank you so much for your understanding and encouragement. You have been a great source of inspiration for me, as well as becoming one of my best blogging friends. I have loved your style of writing from the beginning and am looking forward to continuing to read your future posts.

Thanks for all you’ve done for me!

And Aloha to you too! (I almost used that for one of the goodbyes as a nod to both you, and to Lacy of Adventures of a Busy Mom who also lives in Hawaii. 😀🌴)

      1. You can use the term anytime! It’s not only for islanders. Aloha means many things: hello, goodbye, warm greetings to you, fond thoughts and variations on all of these. So Aloha for now James, and best of all things to you! 🙂

  2. James, sorry to hear of your situation but hopefully you’ll be able to check in with WP now and then. (I totally understand about the time commitments. I’m barely able to keep up with blog reading, not to mention writing.) It’s been wonderful meeting you here. Do take care, and hope to see you back!

    1. Thank you so much. Yes, I will check in on a regular basis and hopefully post once in awhile. It’s been wonderful meeting you as well. Don’t be a stranger. Pop in for a visit sometime and say Hi in the comments of one of my older posts. I’ll be checking them here and there and it’d be nice to hear from you.

Thanks for all your encouragement, and I’m sure we’ll meet up again.
